desolate breakthrough (2007)
with this piece, i wanted to play with the notion of artwork on the computer. i made two separate images: one of a baren wasteland with a single flower and roots, and one of a vast body of water with roots seeming to come out of nowhere. these separate images were opened in separate windows and were lined up in such a way so that the roots connected. i wanted to make a piece that one could not hang on a wall and that absolutely had to be viewed on the computer, and this is what i came up with. you can view a full-resolution of the desktop screenshot here.

earthbound central (2009)
tomato (of starmen.net fame) tasked me to create a logo for a new blog site he created which showcases various stories related to the videogame series, earthbound (known in japan as "mother"). the site is a supplement to the popular starmen.net, focusing less on the die-hard community that has evolved there and more on the actual earthbound games themselves in posts accessible to hardcore and casual fans alike. he wanted a logo that would also convey this message; a logo that would instantly be recognizable as "earthbound" to both hardcore and casual fans. this is what i came up with.

Starmen.net forum banners (2008)
starmen.net is a forum where fans of earthbound, the cult-classic Super Nintendo video game, come to congregate and socialize online. when the forums were redesigned from the ground up, reidman (the founder of the site) asked the community to contribute new forum banners and buttons for the various sections of the website. my banners were selected for the general discussion, newsroom, merchandise and walkthrough sub-forums.
