Here, you can find out the dirt on me. What do I do in my spare time? What do I like to eat? What exactly is my shoe size? Well, (some of) the answers to your questions are found right here on this page!

Just scroll down and let the black-mailing of myself begin! :D

    Introduce yourself.

sweet.. a pixelated caricature of myselfHello! The name is Edward Patrick Alva, or Ed for short (Hence the site's name, "EdSed." Clever, right?). I'm a Filipino college dude attending the University of California, Irvine. I do music and Flash stuff in my spare time.

Really, there isn't much more to know.. I mainly go by "Unlimited Lumpia" on online forums and such. I used to use the alias "akaepa" until I realized it was incredibly dumb-sounding.
    What is "akaepa" anyway?

"akaepa" is a very old web name I used to use before I began adopting "Unlimited Lumpia." It is an acronym for "Also Known As Edward Patrick Alva." It was originally supposed to be pronounced by spelling out the letters, but my friends have since developed various pronunciations: "ah-kay-pah," "ah-ka-ee-pah," "A.K.A.-eh-pah." My domain name used to be "www.akaepa.com" before I changed it to the more interesting, but no-less confusing "dotlumpia.com." I actually still use this alias for Xanga (the site that hosts my Journal), but only because if I change it, it would confuse my friends.
Why do you use Xanga? Why not Livejournal, Blogger or a self-hosted blog?

I don't know, really. Like I said, Xanga is where most of my friends go for their blogging needs, so why use something else and have them work too hard? It is easier to connect with people I know when we're all using the same service. I know there are a bunch of ugly ads that wouldn't be there if I had a self-hosted blog but yeah. I'm lazy.
Speaking of connecting with friends.. Do you have a M--

No. I do have a Facebook, though. You should get one.

Okay. So what are some of your favorite things?

Well, I like listening to genres like rock, techno, oldies, disco and classical music. Rap and pop are genres that I'm not particularly fond of, but I will listen to it if I'm in the mood to.

I'm into video games; I'm admittedly very fan-boyish when it comes to Nintendo.. My favorite games would have to be Earthbound, Zelda, Mario and Animal Crossing.

yep.. pokémonMy favorite kind of movies are comedy and action. Favorite TV shows.. Fairly Odd Parents, Spongebob Squarepants and things like that. I'm a kid at heart, what can I say?

What else.. I still like Pokémon and I have recently started playing Neopets again (don't hate!). Hmm.. And I guess I should mention that my favorite food is definitely lumpia, but if you know me, that should go without saying.
What is this "lumpia" you keep bringing up?

a picture of lumpia.. click for a recipe!Lumpia (pronounced 'LOOM-pee-"ah) is a Filipino variation of the Chinese egg-roll. It consists of more meat and less veggies.

They are typically served with sweet-and-sour sauce or vinegar mixed with garlic and black pepper. It's great for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack time, parties, picnics.. Whatever the occasion, lumpia is the way to go.

    Screw the egg-roll!
Uh-huh. So what got you into making websites and Flash junk in the first place?

One fateful night years and years ago, I decided to download the demo version of Flash (which, by the way, took me one hell of a long time, since I had an AOL dial-up connection at the time). I started messing around and experimenting with it for awhile and soon there was no turning back.
I need help with Flash! Can you help me?
Honestly, I am not the best person to learn Flash off of. Your best bet would be to Google some Flash tutorials and guides. That's what I do when I need help.
Fine. So what about music? What stuff do you use?

I assume you're talking about programs I use to make my songs. I make both my .mp3 and .midi files with FL Studio. I used to use a program called Massiva to sequence my .midi files but it was really buggy, so I stopped using it.

a picture of my hand and my euphonium from 7th gradeMaking music through the computer isn't the only thing I do, though. I played trumpet and euphonium in middle school. In high school, I played tuba. I can dabble on the piano a bit and I'm trying to pick up guitar. I haven't played live in any of my songs (yet), but it isn't something I'd rule out. I just need to manage to shell out big dough for a tuba to play on. Donations, anyone? :D
What type of music do you like to listen to, anyway?

You know, I don't exactly know... I listen to a wide variety of music. If you want, you can check out these nifty Last.fm charts to get a better idea of what I like:

What is this "Melody" I keep hearing in your songs?

In some of my songs, I use a common Melody that I remix, repurpose and reuse. The Melody is as follows:
    musical notation for the Melody
I sometimes add and take away notes as I see fit. Also, the key and time signature can change depending on the type of song I need to use the Melody for, so it always feels fresh and new whenever I use it! Now that you know what it is, go and listen for the Melody in my Music section. :)
So what've you been up to recently?
You're awesome/I found a typo/I have more questions! How can I contact you?

If you want to send me hate mail, point out a spelling mistake on the site (trust me, I have a lot of them), or just say "hello," feel free to choose one of the following methods to reach me:

      AIM - unlimitedlumpia
      ICQ - 353855272
      Yahoo! - ULTIMATElumpia

Instant messaging (go ahead and pick your favorite service) would be the quickest way to get to me; I'm, sadly, online almost all day. If I'm not, you can always just drop me a line through my e-mail address.
Aaaand that is about it for now. I'll add more questions as people start asking them!
