If you want to find out the sites I think are cool, you've come to the right place. Below are a list of websites that I go to often complete with a button and a brief description. If you're looking for a specific type of website, you can choose one of the categories to the left and it'll bring up the sites in that category.
Community Sites
Facebook - My personal social networking website of choice. It has minimal advertisements and is a lot cleaner than that other way overrated, extremely unorganized networking website that everyone seems to love to use.
Twitter - A networking site that, unfortunately, hasn't exactly caught on with my circle of friends. It is a mini-blog of sorts that can be exported and shown outside of the Twitter website, which is a big reason why I was so drawn to the service in the first place. It's just a shame that not many of my friends have an account.
Xanga - This is the site I host my Journal on. It isn't the best and prettiest thing in the world, but since a lot of my friends use Xanga and since over half my entries are on it, why change? A good aspect of Xanga is the fact it allows for total layout control, which is how my journal looks so close to the rest of my website.
Last.fm - So I just signed up for a Last.fm account and I must say, I'm very impressed by how this service works. It tracks the music you play and deals out custom play lists of music that you might like. I've found a bunch of new bands that I'll definitely start listening to even though I've only been on the service a short time.
Gaming Sites
Starmen.Net - A fan website for the Mother/Earthbound series. It is one of the most devoted gaming communities ever (no joke) with an active forum and an ever-growing collection of fan works. I visit the site often, submitting fan music and images from time to time.
Ushi No Tane - One of the best places to go to find info on all of the handheld Harvest Moon games. It has comprehensive guides, event info, items and secrets as well as unique and user-friendly layouts and screen shots to help you along your way.
Nintendo Database - A very comprehensive site covering all first-party games released by Nintendo past and present. It lists the game, when and where it is released as well as some basic info and interesting tidbits about the said game.
PPN Studio - A Pokémon site covering the latest happenings of those darned Pocket Monsters from the video games to the cartoon show to the trading card game and everything in between. What? I'm a Pokémon geek, okay?
Animal Crossing Ahead - A fan site devoted to all things Animal Crossing. It's got lots of guides and a big list of the bugs, fish and furniture you can obtain in the games. It also has a forum as well as weekly downloads of the music found in-game.
Virtual Pet List - A community that focuses on every aspect of Virtual Pet websites, from programming to artwork, Neopets to Marapets, if it has to doing virtual pets, it's here. Here, you can search for people to hire to work on your website, or search for a pet site to work for. It's like my dream come true!
Online Comics
File Sharing
Miscellaneous Sites
Process Library - A good place to see if you have any malicious processes running without you knowing. I've gotten rid of some pretty nasty things thanks to this.
Seventh Sanctum - This site has tools that randomly generates names, stories, scenarios. It's the best place to go if you can't find that perfect name for that hero in your unfinished RPG Maker game. :)
Howstuffworks.com - It's a site about how.. stuff works. I've killed many, many hours on this site (instead of doing class work of course) finding out how invisibility cloaks and light sabers worked.
Neopets - Okay, I know what you're thinking. Yes, I've started playing Neopets again. It is chocked full of ads and whatnot, but you have to admit that it is a very good time-killer. I wasn't sure whether to put this under 'Gaming Sites' or not, but I figured the lower and more out-of-the-way the link is, the better. ;p
