the layout with the most iterations: version 9

So what makes version 9 so special anyway? Well, this is the one layout I've made so far that has gone through the most .. "evolutions," if you will, before it reached its final state. Most of my layouts just go through one or two phases before I think it's passable. But this darned layout took five tries before it went online.

Phase 1

I was aiming to make a yellow and orange layout (much like version 8) and I was very very close to finishing it.. But for some reason, I felt like something was wrong with it, so I stopped working on it..
phase 1

Phase 2

This was the next layout I tried to make as "version 9". I was kind of depressed at the time, so I decided to make a layout that reflected my mood. People thought it looked too depressing, so I trashed it.
phase 2

Phase 3

Okay. I was very very frustrated with all the previous failures that I made this layout. I was seriously considering to make this my next layout.. But fortunately I gained my sanity before it was too late.
phase 3

Phase 4a

Here is my first attempt at this layout. It had the basic structure, but the fonts were all bulky and .. blah.
phase 4a

Phase 4b

Try number two. I edited the fonts so that it looked much fresher, and I changed the white oval main window thing to a circle.
phase 4b

Phase 4c

Here is where I first started adding the 1-UP mushrooms. I tried experimenting with other mushroom pics until I got to this almost final state.

phase 4c 2
phase 4c 3

Phase 5

THIS is the final form of version 9. For this phase, I decided to spruce it up with some Flash and whatnot, using a new technique I learned to make it look all pretty, but unfortunately.. it's only compatible (to my knowledge) on Internet Explorer. I did it anyway, though.
final phase!!

..And there you have it, folks! The layout that went through the most change!! Hurrah.
